Director of Patient Access and Throughput - Opt-N (Asheville, NC) in Asheville, North Carolina For Sale
Job Summary: Provide leadership and strategic direction for capacity management, throughput initiatives, and outcomes for all inpatient bed assignments for admissions (direct, hospital transfers, emergency department, and post anesthesia care) and internal transfers by placing the patient in the right level of care, on the right floor, at the right time, to receive the right care while collaborating with internal and external physicians as well as transfers out. In addition, utilizes resources such as appropriate skilled staff to critical areas for human capital optimization. Elements may be accomplished by other leadership but the Director retains responsibility and accountability over Staffing Office, Staffing Pool, Acuity System, Direct Regional Call Center, House Supervisors and other areas as determined. The Director promotes innovation, research, and integrates evidence-based practice into clinical, operational and leadership processes for efficiencies and with the patient in mind. Clinical, human resource and financial data is integrated to support decision making.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree and Master’s Degree, one of which must be in Nursing. Person’s accepting the role must complete the Master’s requirement within three years of start date If not already Master’s prepared. National Certification is required within one year of eligibility after accepting the role. Certification must be in leadership.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree with National Certification in Leadership

Required Experience: Three years of progressive leadership. Must have knowledge of clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative, and financial principles. Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and innovation skills are essential. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and Intranet software, e-mail.
Preferred Experience: Five years of progressive leadership experience. Critical care or emergency setting. National certification in nursing administration.
