Division: Student Success Services Reports to: Director of Library and Learning Resources Responsibilities: Primarily responsible for providing service to library patrons, students and campus personnel. Dual focus will be on library operations and technology assistance, including the Technology Help Desk. Demonstrate effective librarianship and the application of instructional technology resources. Provide high-quality reference services to all faculty, staff, students and community members who request reference desk support. Troubleshoot library equipment and computers. Supervise the library's Technology Help Desk and provide basic technology assistance to students. Provide circulation services to library patrons. May assist with interlibrary loan and/or cataloging. Demonstrate broad knowledge of information resources including electronic databases and the Internet. Develop and teach specialized research instruction classes for individual curricula. Provide one-on-one instruction in research techniques and strategies. Work closely with classroom faculty to provide appropriate research skill instruction. Manage the library's web page. Prepare reports as required. Ensure physical, virtual and intellectual access to information resources. May assist in preparation of bibliographies. Participate in activities that advance professional competencies and teaching skills. Assist with the periodic evaluation, assessment, and planning of the Learning Resource Center program functions and strategic plan. Develop and revise appropriate instructional and support materials. Exercise a professional and customer service orientation in performing job duties. Foster collaboration among departments by ensuring that the information and instructional systems are supporting the teaching, learning, and administrative functions of the college Perform other duties as assigned and other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Serve as technical advisor to the College's Technology Advisory Council as required. Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous, and professional manner. Serve on appropriate committees and teams as assigned, assist with reaccreditation process. Comply with the college's policies and procedures as outlined in the Faculty and Staff Policies and Procedures Handbook Represent the College in local, regional, state-wide, and national library organizations Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Library Science, Educational Media, or School Library Media or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Library Science, Educational Media, or School Library Media or related field; experience may be substituted for degree. Intermediate to advanced experience in computer use, troubleshooting, and web page development. Library experience. Strong interpersonal, team, and written/oral communication skills.
